We are one of the largest single county forces in England with a unique demand of rural and urban policing challenges and we are looking for community-focused officers who are able to demonstrate a proactive approach to the role. You will bring strong investigative, team working skills as well as first class communication and engagement skills.
We have Detective roles in teams across the force area including the Online Abuse & Exploitation and Organised Crime Teams, and there are immediate vacancies in the CID Teams at York and Harrogate. Our Detectives work alongside uniformed colleagues on a new ‘4-on 4-off’ shift pattern, which means a combination of day and late shifts with occasional Force night cover. This alignment further enhances the NYP “One Team” ethos and facilitates better work-life balance for colleagues who aspire to become specialist investigators.

Successful candidates will be required to relocate at their own cost, if applicable. Applicants are expected to show a degree of flexibility in terms of postings in order for us to meet our operational requirements.
